Women brigade for key roles increases by 28pc

NEW DELHI, INDIA: The year 2015 will witness more and more women at leadership roles in boardroom meetings. All set to take on more responsibilities, the women brigade is aiming for senior positions in the industry.

According to a survey conducted by iimjobs.com,  there has been a significant increase of 28pc of women applying for senior positions with experience levels between 11-15 years as opposed to 15.3pc in 2014 and a mere 10pc in 2013.

This number is also significant in the 7-10 years and 15+years of experience levels. Maximum number of applications (15+years of experience) is for HR & Industry Relations jobs, followed by Sales & Marketing followed by Consulting and lastly Banking and Finance.

This increasing number of applications clearly indicates that diversity in organizations, especially in leadership roles, is the need of the hour. Diversity helps to promote inclusiveness in the work culture, contributing significantly to women empowerment.
