With a new delivery centre, Atos is now hiring in Vadodra

Derives 25 per cent of revenue from the local market; capacity planned for 1000 employees

MUMBAI, INDIA: Some 300 IT professionals have already been hired at a new facility in Baroda and are getting inducted in batches.

Atos, a digital services player plans to recruit another 700 employees in the next 12 months. In the overall exercise, the focus is preferably to hire local talent from Baroda and nearby cities in Gujarat.

As it announced the opening of its new office facility in Vadodara Gujarat, Atos plants in the second establishment in a Tier-II city in India (the first being in Pune, Maharashtra, which was opened in January 2012 by Thierry Breton, Chairman and CEO, Atos Group). With this new office expansion Atos reinforces its Indian presence and commitment. This will boost its offshore delivery capability and explore business prospects from the region as well.

The new office was inaugurated by Peter Pluim, who is the Senior Vice President and COO Global Operations – Atos Managed Services, Atos Group. Pluim said: "With the opening of this new Global Delivery Center in the city of Vadodara, as Atos Managed Services, we re-inforce our commitment to India as one of our key elements in ensuring optimized and high quality delivery to our clients."

Announcing the opening of the office, Milind Kamat, EVP and CEO Atos in India said: “Our focus is to establish India as one of the key global delivery center for the Atos Group and its clients worldwide. We are working on growing India market. Currently 25 per cent of our revenue is from the local market. We decided to come to Vadodara because of the good infrastructure, well renowned education center, rich talent pool and close proximity to key economic center and our operations in Mumbai and Pune. Vadodara offers a good ecosystem for an emerging destination for IT-BPM sector.

The new facility, in the current phase, will house 1000 employees. “India is a prominent offshore center for Managed Services (MS) in Atos. Vadodara will add to this existing strength and establish itself as one the major complementing IT infrastructure Management Services center in India Vadodara facility will be an enabler to our current MS i.e. IT Infrastructure Management Service to meet the growing global demand from clients augmenting our present operations spread across major metro cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata and Delhi-NCR”, said Surendrasinh Gohil, the SVP and Head of the managed services for IMEA.
