Wipro sets up advanced .NET lab

BANGALORE: Wipro inaugurated a Microsoft Advanced Competency Center (MACC) for .NET, where its 100 software architects would work on Microsoft’s .NET framework by the end of the year. The lab is located at Wipro’s Electronic City campus in Bangalore.



Wipro Limited, Chairman, Azim Premji, said, "Talent is not a static phenomenon, but has to be continuously nurtured. The center will strengthen our commitment to talent transformation, drive our progress and help us stay ahead of the curve". He added, "We already share a multi-faceted relationship with Microsoft. This initiative will only help strengthen our relationship further and also offer leading-edge technology solutions to our customers across the globe".



Microsoft Corporation India, Managing Director, Rajiv Kaul, said, "Our partnership strategy plays a key role in taking our technologies to businesses and end users, and also in helping our partners strengthen their offerings and value proposition for global customers. The center is at the heart of our relationship with Wipro, and its achievements will determine the future success of this .NET partnership."



The Microsoft Advanced Competency Center has six full time .NET ready trainers who will pioneer the development of talent around .NET Architecture with special focus on Mobility, Workflow, High Availability and Business Intelligence. The center is equipped with the latest .NET servers, tools and technologies including the pre-release version of the upcoming Windows .NET Server.



It is also equipped with e-learning tools to impart the Microsoft Certified Application Developer training to Wipro employees. The center is a part of Wipro’s talent transformation initiative aimed at enhancement of individual and collective talent in the company.
