Through this partnership, Wipro Net will provide protection in terms of

scanning, detection and removal of malicious code at the gateway level. The

division will use the "catch on the fly" technology of Trend Micro

i.e. viruses are detected without actually having to open the attachments. Mails

are scanned at gateway level, before the mail enters the customer’s network.

Wipro Net will also offer 24x7 monitoring and update of signature files at

the Network Operating Center (NOC). This will ensure that there is minimal delay

between the time a virus cure is put up on the Net and rolled out by the

company.

"The level of specialized skills required to offer virus protection at

the gateway level is very high, which we believe this partnership will address

most effectively," said Wipro Net Head-Corporate Business P Muralidharan. A

combination of Wipro’s technical skills and robust delivery mechanism through

its fault tolerant backbone and state of the art Network Operating Centre, and

the ability of Trend Micro to manage Internet security even in high traffic

levels, will help us deliver reliable security solutions to our customers, he

added.

"The anti-virus security is becoming more value-added. Our partnership

with Wipro Net leverages their high-end security implementation skills and

strong service orientation", said Trend Micro regional manager - business

development, Overseas Business Unit, Goh Chee Hoh.

Multi-layered protection is essential to manage the email virus threat

effectively, guarding all major entry points into an organization to minimize

the threat of infection. Organizations will need an advanced, best-of-breed

anti-virus solution at the Internet gateway.
