BANGALORE, INDIA: Wipro Infotech, the India and Middle East IT business of Wipro Ltd., announced the launch of one of the most prestigious automation projects for the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC).
The entire Central Excise and Service Tax functionalities across India will be automated under this application. The application portal, ACES (Automation of Central Excise and Service Tax), was launched by Anand Sankaran, chief executive, Wipro Infotech.
This application launch is currently for Assesses for large tax payer unit
The Central Excise Department functioning under the Central Board of Excise and Customs, Ministry of Finance is entrusted with the job of collection of central excise duties on all goods manufactured or produced within India and the collection of service tax on specified services.
Presently, the assesses submit documents, including returns, registration, and others on paper. These processes would be automated, providing advantages to the assesses and departmental users alike.
