BANGALORE: Wipro Technologies has become a global implementation alliance partner of Mercator Software Inc., the e-business transformation company, by joining the MercatorWorld Partner Program. Through this alliance, Wipro will strengthen its expertise in e-business integration, and extend the reach of the Mercator E-Business Broker suite to its worldwide customer base in the US, Canada, Europe, Japan, and the Asia Pacific region.

According to a press release issued by the company, Mercator's software suite reduces transactions costs, extends the reach of information and accelerates the flow of e-business transactions through tools that establish a unified integration architecture by integrating legacy systems with newer applications like ERP, CRM and Web-facing applications. Wipro will implement the Mercator E-Business Broker suite in vertical segments like finance, telecom, retail, utilities, manufacturing and healthcare.

"Our experience with Mercator has proven that their e-business integration software is an essential component of our customers' e-business infrastructure, enabling faster return on investment in enterprise systems, and new e-business initiatives," said Wipro Technologies vice president for enterprise application services T S Ushasri. As part of the MercatorWorld Partner Program, Mercator will train and equip Wipro consultants specializing in e-business integration and ERP implementation with the skills necessary to identify opportunities ideal for the Mercator products, and to demonstrate and implement the technology. Initially, a sub-set of Wipro's staff will be trained, followed by a rollout to over 100 consultants by the end of this year. Wipro, which is already working on a number of ERP projects around the world, plans to introduce the Mercator technologies to these customers to speed their implementation and lower costs.
