BANGALORE: Wipro ePeripherals (WeP) has tied up with the US-based Network
Appliance to offer storage solutions and content delivery solutions in India.
Wipro ePeripherals managing director and CEO Ram N Agarwal said, "Our
aim is to provide innovative solutions day after day through technology and
superior business processes. This tie-up with network appliance helps us in
providing PFI — Performance, Futuristic and Innovative Storage Solutions to
customers."
This tie-up is in sync with Wipro ePeripherals stated objective of developing
market opportunities arising out of the confluence of Storage, Communication and
Personal Mobility and Convenience technologies, he said.
"Wipro ePeripherals would focus on filers for storage consolidation and
NetCaches for "edge" content distribution. The company would promote
these lines through its dedicated channels," said Storage Solutions product
manager Natesh B V.
"What is really exciting is that through this tie-up we will be able to
leverage on Wipro ePeripherals channel, customer base and technical strengths in
India," said Network Appliance India operations George Thomas country
manager.
With over seven lakh customers, among the highest for any Indian IT vendors,
Wipro ePeripherals Ltd., the erstwhile Peripherals Systems Division of Wipro
Ltd., has been restructured as a separate legal entity. The employees of Wipro
ePeripherals Ltd., employees of Wipro Ltd. and business associates collectively
own 61 per cent of the company, making this the largest employee owned company
in India.
