Features: Helping Windows Embedded Operating System (OS) designers

accelerate the development cycle for applications powered by Texas

Instruments' OMAP5912 dual-core processor, Mistral Software, a product

realization company specializing in real-time embedded solutions, has announced

the availability of its Accelerator Program Version 2.0 for TI's OMAP5912

Starter Kit (OSK).

The Accelerator Program 2.0 addresses the emerging needs of embedded original
equipment manufacturers (OEMs), who are creating or upgrading their applications

with Windows CE 5.0 as the embedded OS for their devices. The Accelerator

Program Ver 2.0 for TI's OMAP5912 OSK comes equipped with WinCE 5.0 drivers

and Board Support Packages (BSPs). The WinCE 5.0 BSP helps streamline the design

process by supporting a wide range of modules and drivers, a Mistral statement

said.

Targeted at Portable Data Terminal (PDT) OEMs, the OMAP5912 Starter Kit is a
preferred solution for many developers using the OMAP5912 processor. By

leveraging the benefits of the Accelerator Program, designers can meet their

design goals faster, with increased functionality and performance.

“We aim to provide solutions that help embedded designers and OEMs shorten the
development timeline and move products to market faster,” said Samyeer Metrani,

VP-Product Development, Mistral Software. “The Accelerator Program Ver 2.0 is

a continuation of our OMAP5912 based endeavors that consists of plug-in modules

for the OMAP5912 Starter Kit like the Q-VGA LCD Module (QVLM) and Rapid

Development Kit and the SUNADA reference design based on TI's OMAP5912

processor that can be customized for a wide range of applications like PDT,

Wireless Phone, Navigation device, Medical device, etc.”
