Despite the ubiquity of cellular phones, a research conducted by Avaya finds that only 45 percent of office workers say they are normally able to immediately reach key contacts, and 48 percent say they pick up important messages late at least once a week, for the same reason.



Mobile technologies available to enterprises today offer tremendous opportunities, but can fall short of expectations if they're not implemented and managed in a strategic manner.



Employees need enterprise communications in a large variety of work situations and locations changing dramatically from day-to-day, and minute-to-minute.



Expectations from customers and colleagues often extend beyond traditional business hours and locations. In fact, a proper business continuity plan leverages the enterprise mobility solution in times of

need. A robust approach is needed to meet all these needs, to ensure workers have consistent communication capabilities everywhere.



Some instances where mobility can play saviour is during a bad weather — employees will be able to work from their residence without affecting their deliverables. Or sometimes important clients may complain that key employees within the organization are inaccessible and several important requests made via email have gone unanswered.

Mobility solutions to prevent losing customers to competition, especially if a sales person who has been taking business calls on his/her personal phone joins a competing company.



It can also aid the Human Resources department to attract good employees by being able to offer a better balance between work and personal life with help of mobility solutions.

And at-home workers need not feel isolated from their peers, as they will be access the same productivity tools as their colleagues back in the main office.
