George Carlin once said, “Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.”

It seems like that’s exactly what has happened in Britain. The whole world has been affected by the referendum vote, such as a steep drop in the value of the pound that Britain hasn't seen since 1985! But in the midst of all the after-effects, it seems many Britons don’t even know what they had actually voted for.

According to Google Trends, "What is the EU?" is the second top UK question on the EU since the European Union Referendum results was officially announced.

Google recorded high upticks in searches about basic questions concerning the implications of the vote. At 1 a.m. eastern time, about eight hours after the polls closed, Google reported that searches for "what happens if we leave the EU" had more than tripled.

Some British voters say they now regret casting a ballot in favor of Brexit. "Even though I voted to leave, this morning I woke up and I just — the reality did actually hit me," one woman told the news channel. "If I'd had the opportunity to vote again, it would be to stay."

The consequences of the leave vote will be felt worldwide, even here in India. However, after looking at the results of the vote, one million sign petition has been received for second #EUreferendum in Britain, according to AFP.
