Welspun Energy awarded by PM at MNRE solar power developers awards

MUMBAI, INDIA: Welspun Energy Ltd (WEL), one of India's leading renewable energy generators has been awarded the 'Solar Power Developers' award by MNRE.

The Hon'ble Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh gave the award to Vineet Mittal, co-founder and MD, Welspun Energy for being first to commission a 5 MW solar project in Andhra Pradesh under JNNSM Phase-I Batch-I.

The award ceremony was held at the Police Lines Stadium, Panipech in Jaipur on 21st September, 2013. Ms. Margaret Alva, Governor Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot, CM Rajasthan and Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Union Minister- MNRE were also present at the event.

The 'Solar Power Developers' award recognizes Welspun Energy's ability to commission projects well in advance to the set deadline. The award function was a part of the Solar Power Developers Meet organized by MNRE.

This 5 MW solar project setup at Pulivendula, District-YSR, AP was commissioned on 31st December 2011. Completion of this project before schedule, demonstrates Welspun Energy's expertise in solar project development. WEL focuses on creating a robust value chain, which is essential for timely execution of projects within budgeted cost.
