NEW DELHI: Websense Inc, a global leader in web filtering and leading provider of web security solutions is targeting the Small and Medium Business (SMBs) in India and is set to launch a solution for the segment.

Talking to CyberMedia News here, Surendra Singh, head of South East Asia and Indian markets said that the company will be launching a solution for the SMB market in India in July this year. “We feel that the SMBs also share the same concerns as enterprise customers when it comes to issues concerning web-security. Hence, we will be launching a lower-price product to meet the requirement, which will be more easy to use with fewer features,” he said.

Singh said the IT infrastructure in SMBs was not as complex as large firms, and added that integration will not be required for the new solution. “It will be much simpler product and will have the same ability to secure networks and meet the same objectives.” He said the solution has been designed to meet simpler IT requirements."

“To target the SMB market, especially in B and C class cities, Websense will increase the number of channel partners to 100 from the current 50. We also plan to host seminars, events and road-shows for creating awareness about Web-security in the market,” Singh added.

According to rough estimates, the SMB market in India for such a solution is about $ 60 million and only one-fifth of the market requirement is addressed now.
