Speaking about the Analog Devices' unique nature of R&D, Fishman said, "Unlike other companies that designate a specific piece of a product to a particular research center, we believe in giving total ownership to each of our centers." Explaining this further, he said, "The India R&D center has been instrumental in creating our Shark tool from start to finish, and going further, we are looking to create more such applications that will be 'owned' in India."

Globally, the company has certain specific industry verticals that are strong in research. "Mobile, and healthcare have been picking up as businesses for Analog Devices. We are instrumental in developing a solution that allows doctors to have a 4-D imaging of the human heart in order to identify ailments", he said.

On what to expect from the Bangalore center in the weeks to come, Fishman said, 'Taking forward our philosophy of making a center creatre, maintain and support a product or application, the Bangalore center will reflect the industry needs of power efficiency, and increased energy output." Speaking about some of the innovations that are likely to see an Indian connection, he said, "Rural healthcare is a strong focus. Another thrust area is our ongoing commitment in being an integral part of mobile tower communication, and advanced imaging applications."
