MUMBAI: Ways India Ltd., an unlisted Indian company specializing in software
for financial transactions via the Internet and mobile devices, said on Monday
that it had acquired US-based software consulting company McDonnell Associates
Inc.
McDonnell will become a 100 per cent subsidiary of Ways India. Ways India
said the acquisition will help it gain a presence in the United States, which it
has identified as a key market for its transactions.
The Boston-based McDonnell, which was set up 10 years ago, provides a wide
range of information technology services and has clients such as IBM Computers,
Pepsi International, AT&T communications, Fujitsu, General Electric, Lucent
Technologies and Compaq. German software company Brokat Infosystems AG picked up
a five per cent stake in Ways India last month.
