According to the agreement, Liqwid Krystal will provide IT and soft skills to the students through a select catalog of online courseware, books and other content. Empowering students to learn interactively is one of the visible elements of this learning platform.

Dr K Balaveera Reddy, vice chancellor, VTU, attested the need to complement curriculum with suitable soft and IT skills. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “Our idea behind this effort is to introduce an online learning platform to harness the power of the Internet as a learning delivery medium and hence make our students much more employable and job-worthy.”

The courseware and content are from global leaders such as Thomson NETg and Safari Books Online. Certification courses from reputed institutes like Indian Institute of Science will also be made available to students, a Liqwid Krystal statement said.

Anand Adkoli, CEO, Liqwid Krystal, said, “A McKinsey report says that only 25 per cent from the total pool of Indian engineers are actually employable. So, while India is in the midst of an unprecedented growth spurt, and the GDP growing at a healthy rate of seven per cent, we can certainly do better. In the next couple of decades, it is predicted that several thousands of jobs will come to India. I believe that gyanX will help cover the gap”.
