Vodafone's Rs 399 plan offers 30GB data, unlimited calls and other freebies to select users

In order to take on Reliance Jio's popularity, Vodafone India has launched a new plan. The telecom operator is now offering 30GB 3G/4G data, unlimited voice calls, free national roaming, 100 SMSes per day to select customers. The new plan comes under Vodafone Red postpaid plan and offers the option to roll over the data up to 200GB to Vodafone customers migrating from prepaid to postpaid plans as well as to customers switching to Vodafone from other networks.

Additionally, the plan offers access to movies worth Rs 4,000 through Vodafone Play Service for 1 year along with Magzter subscription that provides a collection of over 3,500 magazines for four months. The plan also includes Vodafone RED Shield that is a device insurance offering which is claimed to protect your smartphone from damage and theft. Just like other plans, the unlimited calls are capped at 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week.

To activate the plan, customers need to dial 199 from their phone. After six billing cycles, the customer will be charged Rs 499, up from Rs 399. The new plan is not available in Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh.

Recently, Reliance Jio revised all its 4G plans offering subscribers additional 500MB data. All existing 1GB data plans were enhanced to 1.5GB per day and all 1.5GB data plans were enhanced to 2GB per day.
