Telecom operator Vodafone has made the announcement to sell iPhone in the country.
Vodafone said that it has signed an agreement with Apple to make available iPhone in India later this year.
The company, however, did not disclose the time when iPhone will make its entry into India.
Media reports had earlier suggested that the launch in India is slated to take place in September.
Along with India, Vodafone will also sell iPhone in nine other countries - Australia, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Italy, Portugal, New Zealand, South Africa and Turkey.
Vodafone customers in these countries will be able to purchase the iPhone for use on the Vodafone network.
