VMware's Balaji Rao comes to Veritas

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Veritas Technologies, the spinout company from Symantec has appointed Balaji Rao as its India sales leader.

In his role Rao will be responsible for leading the sales team to drive revenue growth; develop go-to-market business strategy and spearhead initiatives to deliver next-generation information management solutions to customers and partners in India.

Rao is an industry veteran with close to 20 years’ experience working in blue chip technology companies and has held several leadership positions in VMware, HP, EMC and IBM. He has a deep understanding of the Indian market with diverse experience across the domains of virtualization, cloud, security, enterprise management software and storage.

“India is a high growth market and I am pleased to have Rao lead the India sales team to help us drive greater traction with our customers and partners. He has a proven track record of building strong teams to deliver results and I am confident that he will help propel Veritas’ growth and expand our footprint in India,” said Chris Lin, Sales Leader, APJ, Veritas.
