Vivo announced the launch of a new smartphone, dubbed Vivo X21 in China. The device is a successor to Vivo X20 and has been launched in two variants- a regular model with a fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone and a special 128GB variant which sports an under-display fingerprint scanner like Vivo Apex which was launched earlier this month.
Coming to the specifications, Vivo X21 sports a 6.28-inch Full HD+ (1080x2280 pixels) FullView Super AMOLED display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor along with 6GB of RAM. The phone comes in two storage options – 64GB and 128GB (both with 6GB of RAM), with an option for memory expansion via microSD card up to 256GB.
The X21 boasts of a vertical rear dual camera setup with a 12-megapixel primary sensor (f/1.8 aperture) and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor (f/2.4 aperture) with LED flash. On the front is an iPhone X-like notch that houses the 12-megapixel front camera which has features such as a f/2.0 aperture, IR fill light, 3D mapping, and Face Wake facial recognition. There is a 3,200mAh battery, with fast charging support, under the hood. The dual SIM phone runs on FunTouch OS 4.0 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box.
The smartphone comes with Jovi- the artificial intelligence assistant in Vivo X21 and X21 under display fingerprint sensor version. Other features include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, USB 2.0 with OTG support, GPS, gravity sensor, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and gyroscope.
Vivo X21 is priced CNY 2,898 for the 64GB version and CNY 3,198 for the 128GB version. The devices will be available in Ruby Red, Aurora White, and Black colour variants. Orders for these two variants will begin on March 24 in China. On the other hand, the special under display fingerprint sensor-equipped 128GB variant has been priced at CNY 3,598 and comes in Black and Ruby Red options. The under display fingerprint sensor equipped smartphone will go on sale from March 28.
