Vivo Apex with Snapdragon 845 chipset launched in China

Vivo has officially unveiled its newest smartphone- Vivo Apex in China. The handset comes with an under-the-display fingerprint scanner and a pop-up selfie camera, as reported by Chinese technology blog ITHome.

As per the report, the Vivo Apex has a 5.99-inch OLED display with COF technology.  The smartphone offers a 91 percent screen-to-body ratio and is also powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. On the top edge is the hidden selfie camera that can be elevated when required. It takes only 0.8 seconds for the front camera to pop-up from the top.

The camera of the phone supports Super HDR that has a limited dynamic range of up to 14 EV. It is based on the principles of multi-frame compositing and smart optimization, along with ultra-dynamic, multi-frame preferences, character optimizations, natural tones, and advanced AI Algorithm.

The Vivo Apex is reported to have left and right bezels with merely 1.8mm of thickness, while the bottom side of the handset has a bezel space of 4.3mm. Overall, there is a 7.8mm of thickness. The highlight of the Vivo Apex smartphone is the positioning of the front-facing camera. An 8-megapixel front-facing camera rises out of the top of the phone in 0.8 seconds when required before retracting after use.

The Vivo Apex also comes with a HiFi audio chipset and the latest Snapdragon 845 processor. The back of the phone houses a dual-camera system.

Details about price and specifications of the new smartphone are yet to be confirmed. The mass production of the smartphone is set to begin by the middle of the year.
