Earlier, Vivek Traders were distributing the recording media products of Sony which included blank floppies, CDs, DVDs and tape media and drives.

“We have added new lifestyle products to our portfolio. The new range of Sony products for distribution includes digital cameras, handycams, thermal photo printers, digital photo frames, MP3 and MP4 players, play stations, rechargeable batteries and chargers, pen drives and memory sticks,” said Jithender Tatia, CEO, Vivek Traders.

Tatia also said that Vivek Traders has developed an expertise in handling these products as they were dealing with them for years. “As Sony prices have become very competitive now it is also seeing selling acceptance in the market,” he informed.

On the other hand Vivek Traders is set to expand its retail operations by opening two new exclusive Sony and Sony Ericsson outlets in Tamil Nadu by the second quarter of FY 2009 besides the two showrooms that it has in Chennai at present. Speaking on being unipolar, in terms of dealing with Sony products alone for several years Jithender Tatia claimed that the loyalty pays for being associated with Sony for years.

Vivek Traders group posted revenue of Rs 25 crore in the FY 2007-08 and Tatia is confident of achieving a growth of 15 percent this year, despite the downturn.
