VIA showcases x86 embedded expertise in Korea

TAIPEI, TAIWAN: VIA Technologies Inc announced it would participate at the World IT Show in Seoul, Korea to be held from June 17 to 20.

As Korea's largest and most expansive IT event, WIS 2008 is an excellent opportunity to experience the latest systems, board and component level innovations from VIA.

VIA's involvement in the emerging car PC industry will be highlighted at the VIA booth with a range of car PCs from Korean manufacturers designed around the VIA C7 and VIA C7-M processor platforms.

Displays of the latest navigation equipment using the VIA EPIA NX Nano-ITX board will allow visitors to experience first hand how VIA is committed to developing vibration-proof platform solutions that are ideally suited to bringing the PC to life inside automobiles.

Live demonstration of the VIA home automation and media platform uses a VIA vipro integrated panel PC as a central control panel for household appliances such as lighting and heating while a VIA EPIA Pico-ITX-based ARTiGO PC is used as an ultra-compact media playback unit for the living room and a VIA NAS 7800 board is set up as a network attached storage unit.

The VIA EPIA P700 will be on view alongside the VIA EPIA PX5000EG and the popular VIA ARTiGO Builder Kit. A comprehensive range of full featured VIA EPIA Mini-ITX boards including the VIA M700 board, featuring the latest VIA VX800 digital media IGP chipset, will be displayed along with displayed with a range of segment specific boards for thin server, security and gaming applications.

Diverse partner products include a live demonstration of a children's gaming machine and a cutting-edge blood analysis machine, both based on the VIA C7 processor platform. Visitors can also view several board level solutions from various ODM partners.
