The other office bearers of the association include AP Lokesh of System Solutions as VP, C Arumugam of Intech Computers as Secretary, VN Dhanasekar of APT Computer Technology a Joint Secretary and M Saravanan of Carewel Systems as Treasurer.

S Dayanidhi of Scott Systems, B Kannan of Micro Systems and Sairam of Sriram Computers have been elected as members of the Executive Committee of the association. J Prakash, CEO, Prohard Computers is the Emergency Past President, who will take care of the office on behalf of the current President, in case of any emergency.

J Prakash, Past President, VAIT, claimed that the previous year was full of activities for VAIT. Various social service activities were conducted including a blood donation camp. “Apart from the social activities, members of the association benefited a lot through programs like personality development and Linux certification. The association also issued certificates to our members in order to create a brand for VAIT. The elected office bearers have vast experience in the market and we have immense confidence in them that they will take the association to the next level,” he averred.

Praveen is being elected as the President for the second time. He was heading VAIT during FY 2003-04 when the association was formed. Claiming that the association is now well settled, Praveen said that the new team would take up a few serious issues like price parity and MRP. “The first preference would be given to those things, which my predecessor couldn’t complete due to the time factor. The association has been very active with regular monthly meetings and quarterly outdoor meetings. As of now, I don’t think that it needs any new activities,” he said.

However, Praveen pointed out that the major task lying ahead of him is to ensure that no dealer goes out of business at this point of slowdown and financial crisis. “We have all been doing business with good unity and harmony. We want to be more united as one single family and see to it that no dealer goes out of business due to financial issues.”
