Vaswani joins Dell India as chairman

BANGALORE, INDIA: Dell Services announced on Tuesday that that Suresh Vaswani has been named executive vice president to lead its Applications and Business Process Outsourcing organization. Vaswani will also assume responsibility as chairman, Dell India.

He will report to Steve Schuckenbrock, president of Dell Services, said a press release.

Suresh Vaswani, who was the joint-CEO of Wipro’s IT business and an executive director on the board of Wipro Ltd, had recently left the company along with Girish Paranjpe, another joint-CEO, following a major rejig in the company that found T.K Kurien becoming the new CEO.

The Dell Services Applications and Business Process Outsourcing organization includes more than 15,000 team members globally. Vaswani’s focus will be to build next generation service offerings and grow Dell’s process capabilities on a global basis across multiple industry verticals, service offerings and market segments, said Dell.

Dell said India is strategic to it, both as a market as well as for its service delivery capability.

In his role as chairman of Dell India, Vaswani will carry the responsibility of further enhancing Dell’s global delivery capabilities and expanding the company’s strong presence in the Indian IT market. Ganesh Lakshminarayanan, president of Dell India, will work closely with Suresh to continue to position Dell India for long term success and growth.
