According to the company, this is the only web portal that provides a huge choice to enterprises in managing their telecommunications infrastructure. The portal will enable telecom carriers, cable companies, systems integrators and large enterprises to purchase competitively priced data networks from the convenience of the desktops. The portal now becomes significant for Vanco, as it will enable the company to fully leverage its VNO model.

According to Allen Timpany, CEO, Vanco, "There are only a few carriers that have the global reach but almost everyone has multinational customers. With VancoDirect, telecom providers can now offer their customers' additional network capability on a global scale at a competitive price."

Sources in the company said that NetDirect will enable customers to quickly and easily custom design the optimum data network for their requirements. The target market for this service is any company that needs to purchase network infrastructure.

This includes carriers and cable companies that want to extend their network reach to produce more competitive solutions for their end user customers and large enterprises and system integrators who want network solutions.

Wayne Churchill, CEO, VancoDirect added: "The cost of networks for enterprise customers is decreased and service quality is improved by using high quality local infrastructure with greater density than is provided today by handful of international carriers. For instance, Vanco NetDirect can provide greater DSL access to the Internet as well as MPLS coverage than any other network operator in the world."

Established in 1988, Vanco invented the Virtual Network Operator (VNO) model. The company says that the VNO model enables a highly agile and flexible networking sourcing approach. For instance, Vanco does not own any network, instead provides its services through contracts with asset-based carriers. Vanco manages customer networks in 152 countries.
