HYDERABAD: USinternetworking, Inc., an independent applications service provider, is expanding its Indian footprint. The $80 million company has two facilities one in Hyderabad and the other in Bangalore. With the total employee headcount of 610 globally, the Indian component amounts to one-third and the company plans to make it 50 percent in the next couple of years.

USi GM Bala Vasireddi said, “Today, we have nearly 200 professionals in the combined locations and we have recently moved to a new facility in Hyderabad that can house around 200 alone. Going further, we intend to increase the Indian workforce by another 60 to 70 professionals by the end of 2005.”

“USi is committed to helping clients derive maximum business value from their enterprise applications, while lowering their IT investment. By utilizing the talent in India, we are able to focus on onshore resources delivering enhanced business value, while our technical teams in India focus on many of the operational issues associated with maintaining and monitoring complex applications,” said Vasireddi.

While USi entered India through Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) agreement with Intelligroup Inc., and successfully completed the transfer of its Hyderabad operations on May 1, 2005, the Bangalore facility was set up with the acquisition of Appshop, a provider for outsourced hosted and professional services for Oracle Applications Suite.

With multi-billion dollar companies as customers, the company is also eyeing the European and Indian markets for potential customers.
