Use IBM SmartCloud for Rs 3.75 per hour per VM

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Cloud technologies and services giant IBM is banking high on innovation-driven cloud offering that include standardization and security. Built upon open standards, SmartCloud, company feels, is the best option any CIO ever had.

The cloud major said that IBM SmartCloud facilitates enterprises with software-a- a-service, platform-as-a-service and infrastructure-as-a-service.  It also believes that the security systems offers end-to-end security foundation coverage.

G Dharanibalan, executive, offerings management and development, Global Technology Services, IBM India and South Asia  said that IBM SmartCloud Managed Backup protects mission critical data and reduces TCO by upto 40 per cent.

Cloud security, he said is one of the biggest concerns today. "IBM security delivers intelligence and integration,” added Dharanibalan. Cloud is one of the core growth initiatives for 2015 roadmap for the company.

IBM eyes at generating $7 billion in revenues alone from cloud by 2015. This is however seen as company’s transformational shift combined with an array of features. These include on-demand self service, ubiquitous network access and location-independent resource pooling.

The company’s SmartCloud for enterprise starts at Rs 3.75/hour/VM, as a limited period offer. “It facilitates standardization enabled by integrated services management and fine grained IT services with rapid provisioning,” Dharanibalan informed.
