The client is a 150 year old company and a leader in the grocery retailing industry with almost 200k employees. Its retail operations are spread across the 50 US states and beyond, is all that the press release reveals.

The first part of the project has already been put in full production with the deployment of over 10,000 certificates for users in a matter of days. For all of the current solutions in the market, there are too often great trepidations concerning PKI projects. The customer wished at all cost to avoid the market experiences that have shown legacy PKI to be complex, costly and long implementations.

“The PKI market has been riddled with deployment challenges” said Eric Ouellet, VP Research at Gartner “organizations weary of long complex deployment cycles are looking for integrated solutions that can yield effective results quickly”.

The customer requirements were for an out of box solution ensuring very high security with ease of use for all internal and external parties. The decision to choose OpenTrust was rapidly rewarded by a fast and smooth implementation. In less than a month, the long PKI legacy nightmare was over.

The project evaluation team chose rigorous selection criteria for several solution providers.

“OpenTrust stands out in this market by offering a fully packaged, out of the box, and ease of use solution where competitive solutions are cryptic, complex and require developments. Our fast path PKI migration program & proven tools associated with our easy to use and deploy PKI software were instrumental to kill the legacy solution in les than a month time” enthuses Olivier Guilbert, CEO of OpenTrust.
