Metrojoint.com, a social networking site, has introduced a ‘Producer Rewards’ program that enables users to earn money by uploading videos on the site. The users start earning money once the video receives 5000 views.

Later, user's earnings goes on increasing per thousand view.

“This opens a great wave of enthusiasm amongst the video submitters in India, Pakistan and other countries where MetroJoint has good presence,” says Kunal Pandya CEO of Metrojoint.com. “Majority of South Asian nations sites does not have such a program.”

With this program Metrojoint.com has a first mover advantage in this domain.

”With the emergence of high pixel cameras within cell phones, Indian youth has stepped into Mobile 2.0 and they no longer need to carry heavy camera along with them. MetroJoint provides the platform to upload these videos and share them with the world and at the same time get paid for their creative work!" says Pandya.

Many opine that such a move would immensely benefit small time movie makers who can upload their videos on these sites and earn not just money but vital audience and eventually a fan following.

Sites such as Atomfilms.com, one.revver.com, turnhere.com, createspace.com and studio.brightcove.com have already begun to persuade independent moviemakers and amateur artists to upload their videos and earn money in return.

Analysts opine that sites that offer web videos have just given birth to a fresh revenue-spawning opening in this already booming web video content generation.
