Uninor announces call for entries from Indian youngsters

BANAGALORE, INDIA: Uninor, today announced call for entries from the country's youth on the theme My mobile idea that can bring about positive social change.

Young people between the age of 18 and 25 are invited to share an idea based on the mobile phone technology that addresses a major social issue in India, said a press release.

Two participants with the best ideas will represent India at the first Telenor Youth Summit that takes place in December at Oslo, Norway.

Yogesh Malik, CEO of Uninor said: "We believe in the power of mobile internet for all. We also believe that the mobile phone is a transformative device that has the power to change lives. If you have a unique idea based on the mobile technology that addresses a social challenge in India, we are looking for you to represent India at this global platform."

The focus of the summit will be to develop and define ideas to solve social challenges with the use of mobile communication technology.

Uninor has also tied-up with the student organization AIESEC as a partner for the ‘idea hunt' in India.

Through this partnership, details of the contest and call for entry will be communicated to all AIESEC members through the organisation's social media and newsletter platforms.

The Summit will comprise a 3-day program in Oslo of collaborative workshops, inspire sessions and social activities.

The contest is now live on " target="_blank">Uninor's facebook page and will be open for submissions till October 15, 2013.
