With more than one million seats deployed worldwide, SQLBase 11.5 adds SMP support for multi-processor machines for increased performance and scalability, platform support for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, and a new integrated administration console.

“SQLBase 11.5 builds on its successful reputation as an ‘embed it and forget it’ database with the addition of enterprise-caliber scalability designed to fit our customers’ and partners’ current and future data management needs,” said Duane George, vice president of product development and CTO.

“In delivering SQLBase 11.5, we have leveraged our 28 years of database expertise to increase scalability and throughput, without adding to the complexity of administering the database, requiring a DBA. In fact, with the addition of the SQLBase Command Center in SQLBase 11.5, maintenance and usability has become even easier,” added George.

SQLBase 11.5 takes advantage of multi-processor and multi-core machines with increased performance and higher scalability, including use of multithreading for read and write operations. According to benchmark testing, TPC/C reporting applications run up to 34 percent faster using a quad core SMP machine and write performance is increased by up to 25 percent.

New features in this release make it easier for users to maintain servers and databases and secure their healthy operation. The SQLBase Command Center delivers a rich GUI integrated console with the tools required for all database administration tasks. The Command Center includes automated email notifications, including to the BlackBerry and to the iPhone, automation of recurring tasks and notifications, and interfaces to create, modify or add database objects such as columns, tables, indices and views.

In addition to SMP support and the integrated console, SQLBase 11.5 offers:
