Uber is planning to open its third centre in India in Bangalore as the cab aggregator is aggressively expanding its operations in India, report Economic Times.

Apparently, the upcoming centre will operate as a kind of regional centre and support Uber’s operations in South Asia as well.

Citing sources, the report says that the new centre, which would be Uber’s third in the country, could be used for providing support services to both rider and driver besides developing custom solutions for India and the adjoining markets.

After selling its China’s operating unit to Didi Chuxing, Uber sees India at the centre of its global expansion plans. Almost a year back, Uber launched its Hyderabad centre – its largest outside the US – and committed $50 million for the unit along with hiring about 500 people.

In the past one year, the company has rolled out several features that are specific to India such as cash payments, dial an Uber and call centre support for drivers.
