U Mobile will deploy ZTE's DR solution in the core network, increasing the backup capabilities of the network infrastructure, as shared.

"ZTE is committed to helping U Mobile deliver the best and most robust mobile services to subscribers," said Fred Zhang, Managing Director of ZTE Malaysia Corporation Sdn Bhd. "We are pleased to strengthen our long-standing relationship with U Mobile through the latest partnership between our companies."

ZTE's DR solutions will be implemented on U Mobile's Core Transmission and IPCORE equipment to achieve significant reductions in service recovery times, delivering improved network stability and reliability.

The DR system is expected to be completed within 2014, enhancing U Mobile's ability to support uninterrupted Internet and mobile services to subscribers. Upon completion of the project, U Mobile will explore subsequent upgrades and purchases depending on the network's capacity requirement.

"We are glad to be partnering ZTE once again for the deployment of DR systems as we believe their expertise in telecommunications equipment and network solutions will add value to our company," said Wong Heang Tuck, Acting Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer of U Mobile. "This is one of U Mobile's many major collaborations with ZTE and we look forward to greater partnerships and work synergies ahead."
