Twitter improves its security for the users

BANGALORE, INDIA: Twitter has announced that they are enhancing the security of the platform for their users.

In December, they had brought product updates that were aimed at improving the safety of the users. Now they are again bringing another latest round of updates that is a part long term plan.

The process of reporting harassment on Twitter recently was streamlined ; now other similar improvements around reporting other content issues including impersonation, self-harm and the sharing of private and confidential information are being completed. These changes will begin rolling out today and should reach all users in the coming weeks.

These investments in tools and people allow to handle more reports of abuse with greater efficiency. So while many more reports are being reviewed,  the social site has been  able to reduce the average response time to a fraction of what it was.

New enforcement actions for use against accounts that violate the rules are being added. These new actions will not be visible to the vast majority of rule-abiding Twitter users – but they give us new options for acting against the accounts that don’t follow the rules and serve to discourage behavior that goes against the policies.
