As the definition goes, Twitter @Anywhere is a solution for bringing the Twitter communication platform to the site. It integrates a Twitter tool in a site with just a few lines of JavaScript.

It is said to help in promoting a more engaged user base  of the particular site. It has already got a few pre-launch partners like AdAge, Amazon, Bing, Citysearch, Digg, eBay, Foursquare, Gawker, The Guardian, Google and many more.

Currently, @Anywhere supports supports Mozilla Firefox 3.x, Google Chrome, Apple, Safari 4, Opera 10, and Internet Explorer versions 6, 7, and 8. The preceding versions are expected to have new features and/or changes that may be backwards incompatible with previous releases.

Biz Stone, Co-founder of Twitter, Inc, in his blog talked about the new launch. He writes, “Last month we previewed an incredibly simple set of web tools which enable partner websites to easily integrate Twitter functionality into their site experience called @anywhere. The idea is that web users will be able to engage with existing Twitter features from all of their favorite sites. Today, we're happy to announce this service is live and ready for anyone who wants to build a little Twitter into their online experience.”

@Anywhere has five major features namely Auto-linkification of @usernames – Linking users and auto-link Twitter screen names, Hovercards – a small context-aware tooltip that provides single-click access to data about a particular Twitter user, Follow buttons – Adding follow buttons to the application, Tweet Box – a configurable module that allows to pre-populate a tweet with specific text or specific calls to action and User login & signup – allows for deeper integrations than would be possible without user authorization.

At present, Twitter is conducting the two day developer conference — Chirp-- in San Francisco from April 14-15. The community is waiting for more such announcements to come over the time. What do you think, will this increase Twitter's popularity among developers? Or will it continue to be a marketer's paradise?
