AirWatch adds it enables TPG to secure devices and enable access to corporate information for both corporate and employee-owned devices, as part of a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program.

AirWatch will initially manage 400 iOS and 300 Symbian devices. In the coming year, AirWatch will support a large number of BYOD devices running various operating systems, as well as 1,400 new devices that will be used by drivers, inspectors and technical staff in the field. “The first priority for TPG is to utilize AirWatch’s MDM functionality, to secure all mobile devices that are accessing corporate information. Profiles will be created to match device with the security standards that are currently being drawn up,” said Richard Simmons, TPG’s System Engineer.

“The next step will be to push in-house and recommended applications to corporate devices and use AirWatch Secure Content Lockerâ„¢ to securely distribute internal information. TPG is planning to integrate AirWatch with existing solutions such as Sharepoint® and System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) for data distribution and monitoring. Over time, we will be using most if not all of the AirWatch components.”

After evaluating nine key factors - price, ease of use, ease of deployment, supported platforms, client enrolment, security, remote control functions, application management, roaming and cost-control — TPG chose AirWatch. “We continue to expand our presence in Europe with strategic wins,” says Ian Evans, EMEA Managing Director, AirWatch. “We are helping innovative companies use mobile technology with tools, such as AirWatch’s unique solution Secure Content Lockerâ„¢, to create new efficiencies and make employees’ lives better.” Transports Publics Genevois is a public organization that has been responsible for the transport system in Geneva, the second most populated city in Switzerland, for 150 years. The company manages and maintains all of Geneva’s major transportation resources, tramways and buses, for 440,000 travelers daily.
