Transcend unveils SDXC Card

NEW DELHI: Transcend Information, Inc., a provider of memory and storage products, has announced the company's first 64GB Class 10 SDXC memory cards.

Its features storage capacity and ultra fast transfer rates up to 25 MB/s, provides extended HD video recording time and improved camera performance for high-resolution digital photography, said a press release.

Austin Huang, sales director of Transcend Asia, said "SDXC (Secure Digital eXtended Capacity) is the next-generation standard for SD cards established by the Secure Digital Association (SDA). With supported capacities ranging from 32GB up to 2TB, SDXC offers vastly greater storage potential compared to the SDHC standard, which only supports capacities up to 32GB.”

He added that a 64GB SDXC card is capable of storing a maximum of 26208 pictures (based on 5 megapixel JPEG compression format), 352 hours of standard quality video (MPEG-4 video at 384 Kbps), or 640 minutes of 1920x1080 videos.

The USB drive is priced at Rs.15,000.
