Stocks stopped trading on the platform at about 11:32 am EDT on Wednesday.

A statement on the site's market status page says: “NYSE/NYSE MKT has temporarily suspended trading in all symbols.” “Additional information will follow as soon as possible.” All open orders will be cancelled, said the statement further.

Trading finally resumed at 3.10pm EDT.

NYSE faced another technical glitch earlier this morning, but was apparently resolved before the shares began trading at 9:30 a.m EDT.

Trading in NYSE-listed stocks however is still occurring on other platforms, including the Nasdaq.

Two more incidences of technical glitches have also been reported in the morning today- one in the Wall Street Journal site and the other one in the United Airlines' computer systems.
