Toshiba to replace PCs with bad Intel chip: report

BANGALORE, INDIA: Toshiba Corp said on Thursday it will replace personal computers with a flawed Intel Corp chip, the Nikkei business daily reported.

The company said it will replace five notebook models that went on sale on January 28, next month, Nikkei said.

Hewlett-Packard has also offered to replace affected models while Dell Inc will swap the chips or replace the machines at no charge, the Nikkei reported.

Panasonic Corp will delay the launch of three models from the originally planned February 20 as production has been thrown off by Intel's suspension of parts supply, Nikkei said.
