1. Security: Security at all levels will be the number 1 concern. One part of it comes from increased usage of smart phones, VoIP, social media, mobile apps and the other part will come from increased use of cloud at personal and business activities.

2. Virtualization: Significant increase in virtualization at all levels. Virtualization will happen in a major way through the cloud. Whether you need storage or CPU, you will be able to get it through cloud based offerings.

3. Parallel Processing: Finally, we are going to see some really awesome parallel processing capability during 2013. This will dramatically change the way networking products are created and some vendors will come out with very attractive prices using these new technologies.

4. App Gizmos: So, far the smart phone apps have been self contained. During 2013, we will see some very cool apps, which will control gizmos to perform functions remotely. These apps will create more fulfilling 3G/ LTE experience for the end users.

5. Battery Life: Last but not the least, most people will change smartphone settings to minimize frequency of recharging the mobile device. Many apps will become available to enhance battery life in smart phones.
