Top CIOs to brainstorm in Goa

BANGALORE: The crème de la crème of the Indian CIO community is expected to converge at Goa from January 22nd to 24th 2004, to discuss and interact with their fellow counterparts on the business of technology.

The event christened C Change, organized by CIOL, is the annual get-together event for CIOs of top 100, large enterprises in India. The focus of the event is to bring to the fore, the 'Changing role of CIOs' and his/her scope as part of the 'business team" of his/her organisation.

"The CIOs are no longer mere implementers, but are looked upon as decision-makers in the business. IT strategies are adopted in conjunction with that of business objectives. CIOL acts as a platform for the CIOs to meet up with their peers and understand best practices to improve business efficiency. As part of the Enterprise Connect program, the C-Change event brings the top 100 CIOs of the country under one roof to discuss, debate and address issues concerning them," explains Abraham Mathew, President, CIOL.

The one and half year old, CIOL Enterprise Connect program is an online exchange platform for CIOs and vendors, wherein CIOL acts as a moderator between the two.

C-Change, to be held at the InterContinental- The Grand Resort hotel at Goa, will enable the CIOs to mix business with pleasure and provide a unique opportunity to listen to top analysts and industry stalwarts voice their thoughts.

The event will include keynote, panel discussion and networking session from some of the big names in the industry like Pradeep Gupta, CMD of CyberMedia Group, N.Kailasanathan, CIO of Titan Industries, Jeetendra Jain of 'Sack the CEO' fame, Vijay K Thadani, CEO of NIIT, D Ashok, former partner at IBM Global Services and currently a faculty at IIMB, Arun Gupta, CIO of Pfizer Ltd and the like.

Some of the interesting topics of the session include, ‘CIO as a change agent’, ‘Evolving priorities of a CIO’ and ‘Creating business value’. The event sponsors include IBM, Xerox, NetApps, Samsung, AMD, Cisco Systems and Network solutions. Exchange sessions between the vendors and the participating CIOs are also a part of the itinerary.
