CHENNAI, INDIA: After a long wait, Tirupur IT Association (TITA) will conduct its first computer expo from July 24-26. The three-day expo will be held at Kulalar Kalyana Mandapam, Lakshmi Nagar Main Road. The association has setup nearly 55 stalls for the expo, out of which 40 has been booked already.
Tirupur association was formed in 2008 and conducting an IT expo was on the association's agenda. However, it was postponed due to various reasons. “This time it has been meticulously planned and we wish to conduct it successfully,” said K Babu, Secretary, TITA.
The association has allotted eight stalls for the sponsors, however, so far no sponsors have been signed on. The stalls in the expo would display a variety of products, including PCs, servers, wireless networking products, software solutions and office automation solutions, especially targeting the textile industry in Tirupur.
“The main aim of the expo is to create awareness among the public so that business doesn’t go to other regions like Coimbatore, Salem and Erode, which has been our primary problem in the market. We want to showcase our products to users in Tirupur and make them aware that they have everything in this market and needn’t go elsewhere searching for products,” Babu claimed.
