Tirunelveli association gets new team

TENKASI, INDIA: Computer Dealers Association Tirunelveli (CDAT) has elected a new team for 2009. The election was held in the Second Annual Confed-ITTA Summit, held in Kodaikanal. N Ananthavaratharajan, CEO, BG Systems has been elected as the new President. The other office bearers include VA Senthilkumaran, CEO, Megadot Computers as VP; M Jacob Durairaj, CEO, Avalon Data Products as Secretary; S Premkumar, CEO, Corel Computers as Joint Secretary; NA Balakrishnan, CEO, Raaja Computers as Treasurer and N Shankaranarayanan, CEO, Pioneer Traders as Public Relations Officer.

D Vijayakumar, CEO, Superb Systems & Services and Vijaya Janaki, CEO, Rayal Computers have been appointed as advisers of the association. The other EC members of the association include T Kumar, CEO, Sathyam Computers & Consultancy; P Jeyakumar Gnanam, CEO, Computer Park; V Arumugam, CEO, Global Infosys; D Rajeshwaran, CEO, Roopa Computers; D Mohan Babu, CEO, Veefores Associates; AP Mohan, CEO, Sky Networks and K Guru, CEO, Ashian Technologies.

R Muthiah Pillai, CEO, Bits Computer Systems and H Noushad Batcha, CEO, Premier Systems were elected as the Executive Committee Members for representing the association at Confed-ITTA.

Being a district association, CDAT usually elects executive committee members from the taluks that are under Tirunelveli district so that there is a representative from each of the taluks in the association. Muthukumar, CEO, Agni Computers was appointed for Tenkasi; Sureshkumar, CEO, Smart Systems for Ambai; Sakthivel, CEO, Suresh Systems for Sankarankovil; Sivabalan, CEO, Computer Park for Vallioor and Bosco, CEO, Excel Systems for Kovilpatti.

The new team would take charge from Jan 1, 2009. Speaking on the achievements of the current team, Kumar, Secretary, CDAT said that the team under the leadership of Noushad Batcha managed to raise funds of around Rs 2 lakh for the association. “Previously there were no funds in the association and we managed to raise a very good amount through this year’s IT expo. The association was very active and we conducted regular meetings on the last Saturdays of every month. For the first time Microsoft conducted a training program for channel partners recently and educated us on various licensing programs. Leaving the past issues with the vendor behind, association members have decided to actively sell original software and work towards eliminating piracy in the district by educating customers about the benefits of opting for original products,” Kumar said.

As the new President of CDAT, Ananthavaratharajan said that his team would work towards strengthening the association and bringing in more welfare measures for the partners that would help them to grow.
