NEW DELHI, INDIA: A hacker, 'Mak Man' from Pakistan hacked into the user database of popular music streaming website Times Internet run Gaana. '

Satyan Gajwani, the CEO of Times Internet confirmed the website's database was hacked but claimed that most of users' data had not been compromised.

The hacker announced the hack via his Facebook page and also uploaded what was claimed to be the entire database of Gaana's users containing details of about 10 million users.

The hacker who goes by the name MakMan and is based in Pakistan (according to his Facebook profile) have hacked the site and claimed to have gained access to Gaana's backend panel and posted the screenshots of the same. The hacker later clarified that the user data had not been copied or downloaded but were being queried in real time from the vulnerable Gaana database, which had later been patched.

On the same, Gajwani tweeted that, “A couple of hours ago, a hacker name MakMan exposed a vulnerability in one of our Gaana user databases. Here's where things stand. First of all, we have patched the vulnerability within an hour of its discovery, as MakMan has also acknowledged.,”

“No financial or sensitive personal data beyond Gaana login credentials were accessed. No third party credentials were accessed either. As we understand, the data has not been accessed or shared with anyone,” he tweeted in another tweet.

He also said in a tweet that MakMan was highlighting the issue, which the company has recognized, “Most of our users' data has not been compromised, but we've reset all Gaana user passwords, so all users have to make new ones,” it reads.

He also tweeted that the hackers have removed the database from their site and also posted the screenshot of the same. After news, Gaana has taken its website offline.
