Tieto announces Bangalore center

BANGALORE, INDIA: IT, R&D and consulting services company Tieto India has announced the opening of its new delivery centre in Bangalore. Tieto has focused its operations in India to two main sites — Pune and Bangalore. By consolidating operations to these cities the company aims to optimize customer closeness and develop larger and more sustainable delivery sites in the country. The India operations are headed by Mr. Rajat Chauhan, Country Manager, Tieto India.

Tieto is hoping to develop Bangalore as the new telecom site as the city has become the hub for the telecom and media industry in India. Many of Tieto’s global telecom customers have their own operations in the city and with its own set-up Tieto will be closer to its customers also geographically and thus has better opportunities to increase business engagements with current as well as new customers. In addition to business opportunities, Bangalore offers good talent and an innovative, competitive atmosphere.

Speaking on the occasion of the launch, Mr. Rajat Chauhan, Country Manager, Tieto India said, “India is one of Tieto’s main global delivery countries, and the company plans to increase its local presence with a focus on recruiting highly qualified IT professionals. The current site set-up gives us clear benefits — we can combine customer closeness in Bangalore with a large IT project service support in Pune. At the same time, we get additional benefits in the form of cost efficiency and scalability.”
