TiE Hyderabad to promote entrepreneurship in school students

HYDERABAD, INDIA: The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) - Hyderabad Chapter, today announced the launch of a new initiative to foster entrepreneurship amongst school students under program run by TYE - TiE Young Entrepreneurs.

TYE program is a global initiative to enable kids to develop business acumen, making them independent thinkers and inspiring them to choose entrepreneurship as a career. It aims to nurture and create a pipeline of next generation of entrepreneurs and provides a platform to the young talented students to learn the nuances of making an entrepreneurial project successful.

30 students will be shortlisted for the TYE 2013-2014 program from the applications received and teams of 5-6 members of varied age, background & interest will be formed. Each Team will get a dedicated mentor who will guide the team throughout the 16 weeks programme. Under the TYE-Hyderabad Level Business Plan competition, the student teams will develop a business idea and create a strategy covering all aspects like product production, marketing, funding plans, etc. All TYE Hyderabad Chapter level participants will get Certificates and the jury will then pick the winners presenting the best business plan. The winning team will represent TYE-Hyderabad on a global competitive platform wherein it will present their business plan and will compete with best proposals received from all TiE Chapters across the globe. The winners at the global level will receive a cash prize of US$ 10,000.

Murali Bukkapatnam, president, TiE Hyderabad said: "TiE through this program aims to empower youth to be entrepreneurial and lead in a dynamic global environment through a unique integrated curriculum that can be modeled to meet local economic and social challenges. We are seeking highly motivated high school students for this program who can think out of the box and have a business inclination and can be groomed to become future entrepreneurs."

The TYE program has been running successfully in India and across the globe over the years and a testimony to it is that last summer out of 30 students which The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Cambridge, US handpicked across the globe for its Student Entrepreneurial Programme "Launch", had 3 alumni of TYE which shows the quality of the young talent available.

The Curtain Raiser Program to launch and provide information to Schools, Parents and Students about TYE will be held on 22nd September 2013 at Rockwell International School, Madhapur from 10.00am to 1:00pm. The registration will be open online till 28th September 2013 at http://www.hyderabad.tie.org/tyehyd wherein interested students can register.
