TI recognizes MindTree for performance excellence

BANGALORE, INDIA: MindTree Ltd, a provider in global IT solutions and services, announced on Thursday that it is a recipient of the Texas Instruments (TI) 2008 Supplier Excellence Award, making it the first Indian company to ever receive this honor.

Working with TI in areas including wireless communications, consumer electronics, and automotive and medical technologies, MindTree has been chosen for its performance spanning cost, environmental responsibility, technology, responsiveness, assurance of supply, and quality, said a press release.

“The goal of the Supplier Excellence Award is to recognize suppliers who make significant contributions to TI’s business success through outstanding performance and continuous improvement in providing goods or services,” said Bruce Allen, engineering services procurement manager, Texas Instruments.

“MindTree has set itself apart from numerous other suppliers based on our criteria of cost, environmental responsibility, technology, responsiveness, and assurance of supply and quality,” said Dr. Biswadip Mitra, president and managing director, Texas Instruments India.

He further added that they look to MindTree as a valued supplier to help them achieve these priorities through outstanding quality and performance.

MindTree’s relationship with TI started in 2003, and it includes system-on-chip development, embedded software, reference design development and testing.

The two companies also collaborate on programs under which MindTree can implement specific technologies on TI platforms to expand the customer base of each company, said the release

“This award reflects our ability to understand TI’s needs and work with them to develop high-quality solutions across multiple areas ranging from medical electronics and short-range wireless connectivity to multimedia applications,” said S Janakiraman, president and group CEO – Product Engineering Services, MindTree.
