ThoughtWorks names new GM for Pune

BANGALORE, INDIA: ThoughtWorks, a provider of IT services, today announced the appointment of Sameer Soman as general manager of ThoughtWorks, Pune.

As general manager, Sameer will be responsible for the company's Pune operations, business strategy, software delivery excellence, customer relationships, and balancing sustainable growth and employee needs, said a press release.

“I am delighted to welcome Sameer, and look forward to working with him as he manages our Pune office,” said Mahesh Baxi, managing director, ThoughtWorks India.

Mahesh added, “He will be responsible for managing and implementing high operational standards for our Pune operations.”

On his appointment, Sameer stated that, “Over the past couple of years, ThoughtWorks Pune has developed into a vibrant and passionate group of software professionals, completely focused on delivering high quality software for our customers. We need to now establish it as a thought leader in the local market, and as a dream company to work for, in the minds of local IT community and college students.”

Prior to joining ThoughtWorks, Sameer was associated with Amdocs India as vice president, the release added.
