Tertec-UL collaboration for product testing

TAIPEI, TAIWAN: In a bid to collaborate on product testing and certification services mainly for Taiwan-based makers of wind power-generating equipment and components, the Taiwan Electric Research and Testing Center (Tertec) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Underwriters Laboratories (UL).

As per the memorandum of understanding signed between the two players, Tertec's research and development as well as testing capabilities on high-voltage electrical machines will soon be cooperating with Underwriters Laboratories's capabilities in product safety testing and certification.

Tertec is a non-profit organization established by the state-run Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) and more than 10 Taiwan-based makers of heavy electrical machinery.

A related report published by DigiTimes has added that he new joining of hands will see added participation of Tertec in its efforts aimed at making the most of UL's partnership with Germany-based global technical supervisory organization Germanischer Lloyd AG to develop technology for the certification of wind power-generating equipment and components.
