Tellabs unveils metro Ethernet products

BANGALORE, INDIA: Tellabs, a provider in telecommunication services, announced on Wednesday unveiled new line of Metro Ethernet products that extend its Carrier Ethernet solutions even closer to end users.

The new Tellabs 7300 metro Ethernet switching series provides true flexibility to deliver Ethernet to even the most demanding users, said a press release.

It enables the operators to build scalable networks to easily deliver Carrier Ethernet services for business Ethernet access, carrier infrastructure projects like DSLAM aggregation and wireless backhaul applications, it added.

"The Tellabs 7300 series addresses market needs for Carrier Ethernet service offerings in business, consumer and wireless applications," said Dan Kelly, executive vice president of global products for Tellabs.

"Operators encounter enough challenges as it is. Our offering enables them to increase service resiliency and simplify operations for optimized, profitable service delivery."

The Tellabs 7345 Ethernet Aggregation Switch is the first product in the new line. It enables operators to meet a wide range of deployment needs. It provides support for redundant port interfaces, redundant power supply and redundant control plane processors, the release added.
